My blog was about 50% written this week (it’s about painting my kitchen – and I promise is better than it sounds!) but it wasn’t quite ready to go live, because, life.

I decided to pause it until next week because today, Wednesday 23rd April is the day my business goes live and I didn’t want conflicting posts, or something to take away from this.

I’ve had businesses before. When I started my cake business, I held a little launch party at the pub and made a cake, wore a nice dress and even said a few words. This was back in 2009 and life was very different then!

This business launch is a bit lower key. I’ve been focusing recently on doing all the businessy things and other stuff (like marketing!) has taken a back seat. I’ve also been spending time decorating my house, so I can have everything put away and tidy and enjoy my down time. I also have a full-time job and don’t have hours and hours to do all the things I want to.

Ultimately this has meant that the party, the banners, the ‘woo-hoo my business is up and running’, all that stuff is on hold. I might do something, but then I might not. I might, instead do more to celebrate my business birthday, next year and in subsequent years.

I wrote about my ducks last week. That my website is nearly there. It is! It has pages (plural!). It has policies and statements and links. Full transparency, the links aren’t all linked and the policies and statements aren’t where they should be. But that’s OK. I’m OK doing this back to front. If I waited for my website to be ready (or readier – not sure that’s a word!) everything would be on hold for no reason. And sometimes, in the immortal words of Nike ‘Just Do It’. So I am. Website not quite live, cava for one and big launch not so big.

I’m incredibly proud of myself. My life imploded 9 years ago (just under, actually) and I’ve completely rebuilt it. It’s been really hard at times, but I kept going, kept showing up for myself. I retrained as a life coach, bought my home 9 months ago, and here I am, house nearly decorated and business owner.

My message to you: dream big, be bold, celebrate however you want and if you want any help, I’d be honoured to support you.
