From a Great Week… to a Crash
Last week I wrote that I’d lost my mojo a bit. A couple of weeks ago, I had a near-perfect week and then I crashed, or at least my get up and go, got up and went!

Still in the Funk
I was a lot more positive as I went into last Monday and the start of the week, but to be honest, I was still in a funk. Some weeks can be harder than others; there may not necessarily be a reason for it, and we just need to get through them.

A Call That Shifted My Energy
When Friday afternoon came, just before I powered down my laptop, I joined a call with my website mentor. I can always learn something (usually about my website!), so I logged on to Zoom and was met by about 12 other women, all of whom had joined for connection. We all get together and talk about our businesses, but rarely ourselves, and it was lovely to just not think about anything for an hour and just chat.

Getting Out of the House… and My Head
Once our call was over, I thought I’d get some fresh air. I live near a canal junction, so I can walk to Stafford, Wolverhampton, Birmingham and beyond! There wasn’t really any kind of plan, I just wanted to get out of my house (and my head) and so off I pootled along the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal.

A Walk That Turned into a Journey
There’s a 5.1km walk advertised and I decided that sounded nice – it was late afternoon, the sun was shining and so I walked. And I walked. And before I realised it, 2 hours had passed, I was starting to think about dinner and I had yet to turn around!
In total (thank you Strava!) I walked 12.73km and arrived home – ready for a shower and dinner!

Clarity Through Movement
It got me thinking though; sometimes we plod along, not really knowing where we’re going and we’re OK with that, or at least we think we are. And then, somewhere along the way, we make a choice and pick a destination, and we have clarity and purpose.

Having a Map Changes Everything
My walk was like that – initially just seeing where I ended up and then deciding to take the guided walk, ticking off the bridges as I went past and reaching my destination (before turning round and doing it all again!). There was a sense of achievement of following the map, stopping occasionally on the way for a rest or water, but actually in seeing it through.

A Gentle Reminder About Life
Life can be like that – once we decide where we want to go, make a plan to get there, have the odd stop along the way, and then hit our target, or goal. It’s so satisfying making it all the way to the end. It’s also helpful to have a map, or a guide along the way, so you know you’re on the right path.

Need Help Finding Your Path?
If you need help figuring out your destination, or in creating your map to get there, please reach out, I’d love to help.
I’d also recommend taking drinks and snacks with you! It may take time, but it’s so worth it in the end!
